performed against a 13 win team.
As for that loss i am subtracting -140 from my +Units. One of our blog
followers correctly pointed out that -4.5 was not available at the time the
blog was posted. I got the line earlier in the day so in fairness we'll say I had to
buy 1.5 points to get to -4.
Right now I'm a little on the cold side going 1-4 of my last 5. Normally I might
tell you to back down your bets but I"m personally not cold. I had one losing day
in the last 5 but it's been more of bad luck that the pick I chose to post happened
to lose so to try and make up for that I may post more picks on here today and

Vegas Elite Free Picks
There are no excuses in betting. You win or you lose. However,
there are amazingly crazy losses like our over last night. With 3:07 to
go we needed 10 points....thats about as sure a thing as sure things
get right?? They combined for a whopping 4 points. Those are the things
that happen when you get on a little cold spell.
Ive received quite a few emails on money management so I'll share a few
thoughts with everyone here. First off...for some of you....what you seek does
not exist. There is no magic wand or super handicapper that hits 87% and never
ever has a losing day. Doesn't exist. In the real world, 55% is good and 60%
is outstanding.. If you want a good book to read check out Smart Money.
Rick Matthews is the reason you can't walk into any sportsbook and bet 10 or
20 dimes on a game. Now the only place that consistently takes that action
around here is The Coast Casinos.
Anyway, first on money management...If I were you I'd try to have a seperate
account for each pick source I have. So if you were following this blog and lets
say you were paying for a service...I would play the picks, if possible in seperate
accounts so you can work them individually. The way my picks go is that I don't
usually have long losing streaks, you'll spend some time hanging around 50/50
but then like in late January we'll win 10 straight. The problem for most of you is
that during the time I hit 10 in a row your other service goes in the tank and you
cant raise your bet on the streak or really manage your money to take advantage
of the run because your bottom line is just breaking even. Then you get frustrated...
then you make stupid bets. We've all been there...for some gamblers the hardest
thing to do is hang around even. Learn to accept that as a positive when your money
is still in your pocket.
There are a lot of ways to manage your money and I can't really tell you how to do
it because I don't know your bankroll or risk tolerance. Some of the blog followers
here use something they call "snowball" I'm not too familiar with it but it's in Frank
Bellangers "Bookie Buster" I let their ad on here because people have told me that
the ebook has very good money management methods. Others use the Labourchere.
If you want the best info on Labourchere look up Tod Wilkinson...he runs Platinum
Sports Investing Club, a very solid outfit and one of only 2 or 3 services that are
worth paying for. Other blog followers have told me that he has written about it on
covers under the name "PSIC" The Labourchere provides a way to recover your losses
without chasing. It's a money management method that stared with roulette players.
It only requires 39% wins to break even but be careful because it is best used with
picks that don't have long losing streaks.
You can just play these picks flat out and you'll make money over the course of the year
but i'd like to see you be able to capitalize on times when it gets white hot!
There are plenty of ways to take care of your money but I think the most important is
to seperate your pick sources if you can. Plus it makes it real easy to see who's making
you money. You log in and your dollar figure stares right back at you.

First, I"m under no rules at all to get the pick out. Had I given a pick
out earlier in the day you would have lost. I try my best to get them out
as early as I can but the best I can promise is that you'll have at least
30 minutes from when I post and you get the email(a good idea to sign
up for the email) and game time. The Colorado play didn't
materialize until the afternoon and then it quickly became the best play
on the board. I wouldn't put a play on here that I'm not personally
playing and I don't like to lose so my apologies when the plays come
out late but winning is and will always be the number one priority.
Now for this game today I want it at -7 or less. MY FEELING
is that as we get closer to game time this line will come down to 7.5
or less and if that's the case feel free to take it down to 6.5 or even 6.
For the purpose of this blog right now I'm buying 1 pt right now to

A small let down yesterday with the Spurs having a nice lead in the 4th

Of all the potential plays there is one that
stands out. The Spurs have been one of the
best teams in the League from Mid-January
on over the past 5 seasons. I don't think they
let a poor Toronto team throw them out of sync.

AKA NCAA Basketball. I don't know how anyone
can watch that garbage. A bunch of bad shooters and bad
ball handling. There is one good thing....you could run out
get a pizza and come back and half the time the score
would be the same as when you left. ...Like Kansas last

We didn't need our 1 pt buy but like I always say...Its only juice
if you lose.
Today I would love to have some underground special play but
unfortunately this is a day where the matchups are awful and we have
no play.
I know...what the hell will you do with your free time? I have a plan.
Use a night like this to surprise that significant other with a dinner
or a movie and build up some brownie points so when you tell
that person to take a flying leap later in the week when there is a
full slate of games....you'll have earned the time to yourself.

Vegas Elite Free NBA Picks
It's 5am here in Vegas and I want to get this out to everyone very early.
This season, the Orlando Magic have been a solid play ever since they failed
to cover the number in their first 3 games. I know that Nelson is out and thats
a big blow but they wasted no time and traded for an able bodied replacement.
The irony is that the day I talk about how horrible a spread the "5" is wouldn't
you know it that our spread is -5.5 which is why I want everyone to hit this early.
Normally I would buy 2.5 points but Orlando had been very reliable this year
when given the "5" number so just buy .5 and take the line to -5 so you don't
get hooked.

Vegas Elite Free NBA Picks
A nice winner for us yesterday. Those of you who didn't take Dallas on the moneyline
had to sweat it out but in the end the Mavs got the job done pushing us to 29-10 (+23.7)
units in 2009. How many of your other investments are showing that kind of return this year?
For today, as much as I'd like to try to make some money, there are just no favorable matchups. Both the computer and filters have today labeled as a losing day so enjoy a nice calm day with
no investments.
On the bright side, just because there are no plays doesn't mean we can't learn something. People email me quite often asking about the "buying points". You can follow this blog very successfully and never buy a single point. To be honest...I don't want to buy points, however, the NBA is the one sport where the spread matters most in relationship to winning and losing. In the NFL 79.8% of the teams that win the game will cover the spread. In NBA that is not even close to the reality. There are many bad teams like Oklahoma City who cover 65% of their games and have only won around 10 times.
Back to point buys.....there was an interesting study done by Tod Wilkinson and his statistics team....(Tod is a well known pro here in Vegas and a leader in research www.platinumsportsinvesting.com ) and they found that "5" is one of the most dangerous spreads in NBA. It's a bad number for favorites and underdogs alike so When the game is close down the stretch and it comes down to free throws they found that you want your favorite to be -3 or less and if you're playing the dog you want to be +6 or higher to maximize your covers. So what you'll find with our free picks is that we'll recommend you play the same way we are. That's why we have cash on hand to play here in Vegas but we also have a nice piece of change offshore because if the line comes out and our team is -5....we can only buy a point here on the strip in Vegas so we'd play that game offshore and take the line to -2.5.
Of our 29-10 record we've had 7 games where our point buy recommendations were the difference between a win and a loss or push. So if done properly, buying points at the right time can make a big difference in your bottom line.
The NBA usually produces two types of games ....10+ point winners and tight games with free throw battles down the stretch. So the next time you are just watching NBA games, pay attention to how many times you'd be on the wrong end if you just stand pat with that -5 or +5 spread.

On to baskets. Well we made it to February before we suffered our 10th defeat of the year but 28-10 (+22.7 Units) is nothing to complain about except the way we lost was not even thinkable. The Lakers got the job done for us but New Orleans led by 19. I honestly stopped watching. Good thing because they got outscored about a million to 10 and lost the game....
No dwelling on the loss lets move on to todays selection. If there are any new comers to our site I try to keep it realistic for people who have large and small bankrolls and our wager is based on a $50 wager. I make the wager myself in one of my offshores so you can see that I'm right there with all of you. $50 is our base 1 unit wager.
